Mini Capsule Machine
The second project of MAE 2250: Synthesis was an open design project in which students in pairs needed to come up with a mechanical design to faciliate non-engineering students with studying during finals. Jordan Gurian and I came up with a arduino based reward system, known as the mini capsule machine, to help students keep track of time without miscellaneous device and it offers a reward after certain time for encouragement. The box was made of laser cutted acrylic sheet. The electronics included a LGB LED for color code feedback and a LCD screen for time feedback. This was the first time I learned to use arduino and laser cutter. Unfortunately, we did not record a video at the time, but the design concepts, carboard mock-up, and final prototypes were preserved:
