IntelliGlove is a smart sensing glove designed to accurately recognize and translate human hand gestures into English words and numerical values. The glove's ability to recognize and translate human hand gestures into meaningful data points opens up new avenues for communication and control in fields ranging from robotics and automation to healthcare and virtual reality.
This project was inspired by previous research on smart gloves and tactile sensor designs in the robotics field. However, IntelliGlove takes gesture sensing to the next level by incorporating customized force sensors that are thinner and more flexible than previous designs. These sensors have been specifically developed to provide users with a more personalized and comfortable experience, conforming to the natural shape of their hand and delivering a more natural and intuitive interface. With this innovative approach, we aim to improve the overall usability and functionality of smart gloves, enhancing their potential applications across a range of industries.
Through working on the IntelliGlove project, we were able to apply and reinforce our knowledge of various concepts learned in class, including the use of PIT interrupts, GPIO, and ADCs. It was a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience and further develop our skills in embedded systems. We look forward to continuously bringing innovative ideas for human-machine interaction, paving the way for a more natural and seamless connection between people and their devices.
