Code is considered external if you did not write it specifically for the current assignment in this class.
Code Examples:
All code must be your own work unless the assignment explicitly states you may use external code.
You may use external code as a reference (code is not copied) when writing your own code.
You do not need to cite code that you used a reference.
You are not permitted to import entire libraries of code unless permitted by the assignment.
You may not use jQuery or Bootstrap unless the assignment explicitly states you may.
If explicitly stated in the assignment, you may use external code provided that you meet these requirements:
Do not copy and paste the code. Manually type out the external code yourself.
You must understand how the code works.
Use this as a learning opportunity to understand how the external code works.
Adapt the code to the best practices and standards of this class.
Cite the source in a comment near the external code.
If the original code includes instructions for public citation, you should cite it publicly as instructed.
