Introduction

The Campus Pride Index measures LGBTQ+ inclusivity across U.S. colleges. By analyzing changes in ratings across various factors, we aim to identify key aspects that will help prospective students make informed choices and encourage universities to strengthen inclusivity.

We are interested in exploring:

• How are pride ratings affected by environmental factors on college campuses?
• How do pride ratings vary by location and differ according to university type (public, private, and community college)?

Q1: High density community types tend to be more LGBTQ-friendly

Q1: Positive correlation between pride ratings and student population size

Q2: Vermont, Minnesota, and Indiana have the most LGBTQ-friendly campuses

Q2: Public universities show high variability, but medians are comparable to private universities
