I’m Lexi Quarles, a senior in Engineering at Cornell University. As an underclassman, and then an upperclassman through the COVID-19 pandemic, finding internships and jobs has been extremely difficult. I always wanted a place that I could go to access all resources Cornell offers and more, so that is why our team decided to create and implement this idea. Being unemployed still, I can empathize with underclassmen who may be starting this journey of internship and job applications, and hope that our site can provide some guidance and clarity with the process. I believe that learning how to use LinkedIn, writing a resume and cover letter, and networking are all important practices to know and are not taught clearly enough, especially to Freshman and Sophomore students. Thank you for checking out our site, and I hope you enjoy it!
I’m Ian Paul, a senior studying Computer Science in the College of Engineering at Cornell University. I was unsuccessful in obtaining an internship after my freshman year at Cornell and felt lost on how to navigate the professional world until gaining the relevant knowledge through a business fraternity on campus, which are often exclusionary as a result of their low acceptance rate and focus on finance. I thought many of the skills I learned this way should have been something I found out from Cornell’s Career Services, which felt overwhelming and as a result inaccessible. My team and I made this site to help reduce this barrier, allowing underclassmen to find the key knowledge to succeed in the job market easily in one place.
I’m Julian Londono, a senior studying Computer Science in the School of Engineering at Cornell University. Recruiting for summer internships on a yearly has become a very familiar procedure during my years at Cornell. I was fortunate enough to have landed a freshmen-oriented internship after freshman year and have learned so much about resume-writing, taking advantage of your professional network, and the overall job application process since then. Early on, my older brother would proof-read my resume and suggest that I employ many of the techniques we describe on this site to bolster the quality of my resume - therefore, I am glad to be able to help centralize this information and these techniques to any underclassmen in the same position as we were years ago!
I’m Sam Rosenthal, a senior studying Computer Science in the school of Engineering at Cornell University. Having gone through three years of recruiting, I have learned a lot about the job search. It has not been easy. While I have tried to use Cornell resources, most of the skills/knowledge I have attained have been self-taught through trial and error and more error. The goal of this website is to pay it forward and hopefully help future underclass students navigate the headache that is professional development.
