The festival spans the length of the Commons, Ithaca’s downtown pedestrian mall, and vendors line closed-off portions of surrounding streets. Live music is scheduled throughout the weekend at the Bernie Milton Pavilion and street performers take advantage of closed intersections. Many Cornell University and Ithaca College alumni, along with former “Ithacans” block off Apple Fest weekend on their calendars years in advance so they can plan on coming back to visit just for the festivities.
Ithaca’s Apple Harvest Festival is an invigorating reminder of our region’s rich agricultural roots (pun intended) as well as a showcase of regionally-made arts, crafts, and food. With live concerts, children’s games, and cider, beer, and wine tastings, all weekend long there’s something at the festival for people of all ages to enjoy!
“Apple Fest is really cemented in tradition,” says Downtown Ithaca Alliance's Director of Events for the Downtown Ithaca Alliance. “This festival is built into the fabric of what it means to grow up in Ithaca.”
“Applefest is my favorite time of year. It’s as good as Christmas, if not better.”
