The United Nations Security Council is a critical international body responsible for maintaining global peace and security. As such, the ability of a country to secure a seat on the Council can be a key indicator of its political and economic influence in the world. This research project explores the relationship between certain economic identifiers, including Gross Domestic Product (GDP), military expenses, and mortality rate, and a country’s potential to be elected four or more times on the United Nations Security Council. By analyzing data from multiple countries over two decades, this study seeks to identify trends and patterns that may shed light on the factors that contribute to a country’s success in achieving multiple terms on the Council. We use a method of a difference of means to evaluate results and we believe that such findings can allow policy makers to make more effective decisions that promote both political stability and economic development.
