Preregistration of analyses

Analysis #1

We plan to analyze how the number of policies differs depending on region/state. For this, we may decide to create a faceted frequency plot (likely a histogram) where we are able to compare the number of policies over time for the different regions. This way, we may be able to determine whether certain regions of the United States tend to have a larger or smaller number of covid-19 or health related policies.

Analysis #2

We plan to analyze how different policy types varied in their passing quantity over time, for how over time the focus of state policies shifted over the course of the pandemic. For this, we may use something like overlapping line graphs with time on the x axis and each line representing a different policy types to better show how over time different policies came in and out of prominence and compare them together easily by seeing them all on the same plot.
