Analysis #1

How does song tempo relate to song popularity? We’ll explore tempo as the explanatory variable and “song hotttnesss” as the response variable, and can break down this analysis further by comparing between certain characteristics (e.g. genre of song). We hypothesize that the faster the tempo of a song, the higher the “song hotttnesss” score.

How does song length relate to song popularity? We’ll perform a regression to create a model that predicts “song hotttnesss” based upon the length of a song, and analyze this model to determine if there are any statistically significant relationships between the two variables. We predict that extremely short and extremely long songs will have lower “song hotttnesss” scores.
